I met Tricia Kimbrell last year when I happened to be on Reverb Nation searching for local and regional bands to check out. A link to Poor Man’s Fame out of Rock Hill, SC came back and I followed it to their page where I listened to samples from their upcoming release “Tell The Story”. I was impressed with their level of musicianship, the drive and tightness of the material. I got in touch with Tricia, let her know how much I liked their work and shared some resources, I told her at some point I would be showcasing Rock Hill and would really love to put their band up first. Well here is the new Facebook page and the new website page for Rock Hill and surrounding area and I want to introduce Poor Man’s Fame to you. This husband and wife team backed by an awesome rhythm section deliver songs that touch on both personal and social themes. Well written and well structured, rich in melody they come to life with Tricia’s signature powerful vocal talent. I hope you enjoy the music and the official video for their release “Narcissistic”, and I’m looking forward to adding many more artists and bands as this Rock Hill site grows.

Bio (from the press kit):

Poor Man's Fame wasn't always an original band. We started as a cover band in late 2010 covering everything from Audio Slave to Mudvyane, all with a female singer! We covered what we liked and had a ton of fun doing it.

In 2011 we made a promo CD with our versions of some of the songs we covered so we could market ourselves and start booking shows. We also uploaded them to MySpace where they could be heard around the internet. After a few months of our songs being on MySpace we were contacted by a label scout and asked about writing our own material. We hadn't really thought too much about it but we tossed it around for a while.

In spring of 2012 we went to Atlanta and recorded our first original "All or Nothing" with producer Alex Rexroat with Universal Recording Company/Pendlewood Studios. That single landed us a 2 year record deal with private label Public Records/Medical Records. The single also grabbed the attention of other veteran musicians that inquired about doing some collaborations.

In the spring of 2013 we went back to finish recording our debut album and in October of 2013 we released Tell The Story. We also released our cinematic video to our first single off that album “Narcissistic”.

Our songs have been played across the country on a host of internet radio stations, local radio stations, college campus radio stations and in stores and sites in Europe. We have also been fortunate enough to perform in venues from South Carolina to Virginia, This band doesn't mind traveling!

Our Next Album release is set for fall 2014! To contact us please see booking information listed on our official site and affiliate sites.
